Delete Your BolBahi Account

This page explains how to delete your BolBahi account, what data is removed immediately, and what data we are legally required to retain. BolBahi is operated by Orrizonte Technologies Pvt Ltd, with registered office at T4, 11th Floor, Assotech Business Cresterra, 1115, Sector 135, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201304.
1. Delete Your Account From Inside the App
If you can still sign in, this is the fastest way to delete your account:
- Step 1: Open the BolBahi mobile app or web app and sign in.
- Step 2: Go to Settings → Profile.
- Step 3: Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Step 4: Read the on-screen summary of what will be deleted and what will be retained.
- Step 5: Re-enter your account password to confirm.
- Step 6: Tap Delete Account in the confirmation dialog.
What happens next:
- Your account is marked deleted immediately.
- You are signed out on every device.
- Your active subscription, if any, is cancelled automatically.
2. Delete Your Account by Email
If you no longer have access to the app or to your registered email, contact us by email with these details:
- Email: info@bolbahi.app
- Subject: Delete my BolBahi account
- From: the email address registered on your BolBahi account
- Include in body: your registered mobile number
What to expect:
- We verify your identity and complete the deletion within 7 business days.
- We may ask you to confirm a recent invoice number or other account details before proceeding, to prevent unauthorised deletion.
3. What Is Deleted Immediately
The following are permanently removed from our systems within 24 hours of your request:
- Your name, email address, and mobile number
- Your account password
- Your profile photo
- Your active sessions and login tokens on every device
- Push-notification tokens
- Unattached bill photos you scanned but did not save to an invoice
- Your active subscription is cancelled with Razorpay; no further payments will be charged
4. What Is Retained, and Why
Indian tax law — the Income Tax Act, 1961 (Section 44AA, Rule 6F) and the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (Rule 56) — requires every business to retain books of account, invoices, and supporting records for eight years from the end of the relevant financial year.
Because BolBahi is a GST invoicing app, we are required to retain the following for that period, even after you delete your account:
- Invoices you issued (with your customer names and amounts intact, as required for GST audit)
- Customer records linked to those invoices
- Product and inventory records linked to those invoices
- Payment and ledger entries
- Your business name and GSTIN are anonymised in our database (replaced with a placeholder) but the underlying invoice content is preserved
How this data is protected during retention:
- Encrypted at rest.
- Not used for any purpose other than legal compliance.
- Not visible to anyone except authorised BolBahi staff handling tax-authority requests.
- Permanently and irrecoverably purged after eight years.
5. Timeline
- Within 24 hours: PII deleted, account anonymised, sessions revoked, subscription cancelled.
- Within 7 days: Confirmation email sent to your previously registered address.
- After 8 years from the end of the relevant financial year: Retained invoice and customer records permanently purged.
Important notes:
- A deleted account cannot be recovered.
- If you sign up again with the same email later, you start with a fresh account.
- Your old invoices will not be linked to the new account.
6. Third-Party Data
When we delete your account, we also delete or anonymise data we hold about you in supporting services:
- Razorpay: Active subscriptions are cancelled. Payment transaction records are retained by Razorpay per their own retention policy and applicable RBI guidelines; we cannot delete these on your behalf.
- Sentry (crash diagnostics): User identifiers attached to historical crash events are scrubbed within 30 days; the events themselves expire on Sentry's standard retention schedule.
- Amazon S3 (bill photos): Hard-deleted with the rest of your PII.
7. Delete Specific Data Without Closing Your Account
You do not need to delete your whole account to remove specific data:
- Delete an individual invoice, customer, or product directly from inside the app (subject to the same 8-year tax retention rule for posted invoices — these are soft-deleted, not purged).
- Email info@bolbahi.app to request deletion of unposted draft data, scanned bill photos, or other content that is not subject to tax retention.
